Default VATS problem?

I'm a brand new member to the forum.

I have a 1997 Deville with 133k miles.

At the outset I would like to say that there are several post about the issue I’m having but not exactly same. My problem is that it runs for about 5 seconds and dies. When it dies the PRNDD2 flashes and the security light never comes on or even flashes. The "Check Engine Light" is on but there are no codes. The following items do not work: head lights (The lights on the dash do work), dome light, power windows and seats. The trunk release and the radio works.

I made a resistor to bypass the VATS and there was no change. Then the battery cables were cleaned and the body grounds from the negative cable were cleaned as well (No other body grounds were cleaned).

After reading multiple post about the problem that I’m having it seemed important to mention all the components that are not working as there could be a problem of communication between the different modules but I’m still not sure. Or the VATS module might be bad.

Please advise.

I also have a 1993 Seville with 109k miles in great condition. It runs great.

I forgot to mention that after the engine dies there is a message that says the following: "There is security system problem car may not restart".
