Hello, I have a 2000 STS with around 122,000 miles. The other day I pulled into a parking lot (kinda up hill) and the car felt like it went into neutral... It didnt. I pulled into a parking space and put the car in park, usually this unlocks the drivers door automatically but this time it didnt. I went inside and came out to leave. Got back into my car and the transmission would not go into reverse, or any forward gear. It would go into park and neutral but the gear indicator on the dash cluster would not move. I checked to see if linkage on transmission and cables were working and they were. Its almost like its an electrical problem but i cant find it. Has anyone had this problem. Anyone tell me where i can look now? Any help would be appreciated Thank you, Daniel

 

Malfunction with a solenoid inside the transmission probably, maybe loose wire connection too. Can't really say which for sure.
