PAINT -- What makes this Allante special and rare is the professional paint that was added by the earlier owner. Notice the one picture showing the 3 brush marks...this is the trademark of the painter (Does anyone recognize it?) and it appears on both sides above the rear tires. Interestingly, the pin-stripes are not taped, but are applied with paint and can't be felt when touched. Also, the paint appears to have multi-layers of clear coating which gives it a depth of color...very cool.

COLOR -- I searched and found that in 1989 there were 125 units that were produced with the Smoked Metallic Grey, a sought after color for the XK8 Jags. Most 89 grey Allante's were equipped with the red interior which I felt was not as European to the rare matching grey interior.
