Default Pulling diagnostic codes on a 2003 CTS???

Does anyone know how to pull diagnostic codes on a 2003 CTS? I found some info in the FAQ section for 2000's models that instructed me to:
  1. Turn ignition "ON." Engine can be either OFF or RUNNING.
  2. Depress the "ON/OFF" button and the "UP ARROW" end of the info button on the driver information center simultaneously for a few seconds.
I am not sure what the "ON/OFF" button refers to. I tried the button for the radio and for the heater, but neither worked. There is no on/off button for the driver's information center.

I think some of us, at least me, assume that most Cadillacs have on board codes one can pull.
generally, from 1987 to 2009, which cars have the on board codes?
