New calipers and pads
hey guys, put new calipers and brake pads on the front of my 79 eldorado, and now I'm trying to bleed the driver's side front and no fluid is coming out. Not out the bleed hole or even out of the line going into the caliper.
Is there a sequence to bleeding? I just figured if you pump enough the caliper would fill and pressure would build, idk

there is fluid in the master cylinder, and when the brakes are pumped fluid shoots up, and so I have left the cover on. A little seems to be going down, but that is because of the passenger front side, when pumped that side bleeds a little, not like i've seen on youtube brake bleeding videos, but a slower trickle.
The backs I just found out are drum. so it is just the front drivers side that is not getting any fluid, I'm going to keep bleeding the passenger front side.
I'm not sure what you mean about swelling. Maybe it is plugged somewhere, but all I can follow is the brake lines, and below the master cylinder they enter, like a mini-master cylinder, it may be evil.

Bleeder screw passageway may be blocked. It can be cleared with drill bit or they are not expensive to replace. Remove bleeder screw and have helper push pedal very slowly see if flows freely. Small plastic or rubber plug can be use to stop fluid from leaking out if you try to clear passageways.Did master cylinder reservoir empty of fluid while changing calipers? If so you may have a lot of air trapped in lines. Because the car is 30 yrs old it;s not a bad idea to replace all three brake hoses.
ok, thanks for info and suggestions, but I think I figured it out. I never thought to start the car when I was bleeding the brakes, I started it up and it went smooth with mucho pressure and before long both brakes bled and the car has been test driven and no more wicked screeching, and I have brakes.
lol another day in the books
, tomorrow coolant flush. I have mad heat in the cab and a little smoke trickling from the radiator after long drives. If it's like everything else on the car it has been neglected.
