Hello Everyone, Merry Christmas...

This is my first post.. My dad and are are looking at buying out first Cadillacs...

We fould 2 one is a 99 STS unsure of miles

The other is a 2001 STS with 83K miles. Looks to be loaded up...

If there anything we should be looking at before we buy? Hints? advice? things that could be trouble to get taken care of under Warranty?

Please help we are FORD guys and are thinking of crossing over so any help would be great...

ALso... on mine which will probably be the 2001 what mods can I do? Exhast? Engine? Cosmetic? And Wheels and Tires whats the widest are biggest...I can go?

It's no different than buying a LINCOLN, you want to be able to take a shop or dealer of your choice and have car checked out. You will have to pay fees involved. Request maint. records. Be very carefull of as is deals. Search posts Devilles, Sevilles, and Edorados all have similar systems and concerns. If a warranty is availible make sure if covers everything including leaks IMO get it. If they wont give you one atleast 01, I would walk away. Wheels largest I've seen 22"s.

 

eskurka..... hey merry christmas, and welcome to the Forum. its nice to see someone interest in an sts. ( i drive a 99sts, and love it). as slowroll said, "have the vehicles checked out" take them to your mechanic for a once over. i'm sure he's done that before for his customers...... vehicle history, do you have any?... will the dealer run a car fax? you should..... for the $20.........
questions: are these vehicles at a new car dealer, or a pre-owned corner lot?
what are they doing as far as warranty for you on them?
can you have previous owners name? check this stuff out and
get back to the Forum, we'll try to assist your needs
