Heater not working 94 Concours

Gentlemen:HELP! My Dad's 94 Concours, 94K miles, is not giving us any heat. All controls seem to be working, air conditioning, defrosters, Auto,Economy etc. and the diverters all are directing air flow correctly. Is there a solenoid that might be causing this problem and if so where is it located?Thank you in advance for your kind assistance. Its getting colder here in N.J!

Well there might be a bad heater control valve and/or clogged heater core...... check the coolant for any crap floating around before you go on to other things. The cold weather isn't that bad :D but thats coming from a Minnesotan.

Big5DoubleZero:
Thank you for your help. I am not Mr.Mechanic, so where is the heater control valve?? I also read on the website that it might be a door behind the glove box that could be jammed-A post said to remove the box liner (4 screws I think) but there is a sticker in the glove box warning about the air bag.Should I also check that? Many thanks again for your kind reply.

John

No problem, you start somewhere like everyone else. On this car I do not know right off the top of my head where the heater control valve is. I would have to look on Alldata or Mitchell. If you have a library near by call and see if they do have Alldata at the location and you should be able to find it. The only thing is you might have ot fork out a few cents to print off the info.

On any literature you come across being web or book, check it out. I look everywhere I possibly can. The library might have a manual for your car also.

Alldata will give you a procedure of removing/installing things, especially if it has a SIR systeminvolved(Supplemental Inflatable Restraint system). Some things are so basic that there will be nothing on it for literature.

Also to remind that the FAQ forum should be a big help if you decide to read more before you actually do post a thread when you think youare not sure on something.

Good luck
