The "book" of course would be correct. Have your daytime running lights not operated since you owned car ?

Perhaps last owner didn't want Day Time Running lights to operate to maybe reduce battery power consumption. I don't have that feature in my '84 but do have it in my 2003 VW. In the VW the DRL turn on when ever the parking brake is released and engine is running. They cease operating when headlights are turned on.

Still a mystery why those fuses were removed.

The DRL have always worked. I will get back to you next week, I am out of town now.

I am in the process of checking all the fuses and relays. There is a number of them so it will take a while. Thanks.

I have checked all fuses and relays, they are ok, I am about to give up, I don't think I want to go into the wiring and the connectors. It would be a big job to get theses things.
I'll let you know if anything comes up.
