Fuel pressure regulator

RE: Fuel pressure regulator
Well I have a friend who works for GM and he gave me the replacement procedure for the fuel pressure regulator. One remove the gas cap, second remove the fuel pump fuse, third start the car let it run until it stops, keep starting it until it will not start anymore. Then put a cup over ther pressure release rail to catch the gas and press the release valve until the all the pressure is out.
Once this is done use a needle nose plier or pliers to remove the clamp over the fuel pressure regulator. Grab and pull the fuel pressure regulator out of the value area. Put the new regulator in and clamp it down.Put the fuel pump fuse and gas cap back in place. Start the car.
That is it, guess what that was my starting and stalling and backfire problem. Thanks to a GM worker.
