corrosion on 18" 9 spoke wheels
hello everyone, i am a new member, but i have owned over 10 caddy's- just purchased a 2006 DTS lux III w/perform package, great car...BUT it came from ohio and all four wheels have bad corrosion and the chrome is peeling, a gm factory rep has turned down my req. to replace the wheels( car is still under orig. factory warranty) question - has anyone ever experienced this and if so what can u suggest , thanks artie

artie... first welcome and hello..... second, wheels. are they the original wheels for the car? and if the wheels are that bad, how is the rest of the car? it is possible the previous owner has applied a chemical of sorts for cleaning that has eaten into the chrome. is that possible? now if you bought the car from a dealer in that condition, i would think the dealer would not do anything, as you bought it that way.
his response would be, "thats way you got such a good price" it is pretty tough to get wheels replaced, but if you are truely sure of corrision and not trying to scam a set of wheels, id go further up GM'S a_ _.
good luck

hello rick, i thank you for your reply, everything u said about the dealer is correct, the gm rep stated a lack of maint to the wheels ???- what maint???, anyway would u have any other info directing me as to who i might contact at gm ??? i had trusted a reputable caddy dealer in ohio to give the straight truth- other than the wheels the car is pristine to the point of perfect still has 10 mo. warranty thanks artie
