96 deville northstar weird problem
 

I have a 96 deville with northstar. recently after getting gas the car wont start. I have tried everything from testing relays and switching to new battery to get it to start. Nothing works. If I have just put power to the battery it will turn over but not start, like its fuel related. Yet, after 1 turnover nothing. Dash lights do not come on when key turned forward only gear selector light. (like its security related). I have went as far as replacing the ignition switch with no success only wasted money. I really have no clue on how to diagnose this problem. Any suggestions would really help, only car I have to drive right now and cannot afford the dealership or to have someone else do it. I am very mechanically inclined yet still clueless.:mad:

Check the FAQ section here for info on how to get the codes. Sounds more like an electrical issue, such as a loose/corroded connection somewhere. Codes will help to get you pointed in the right direction.:D

does the starter click when u turn the key

if no
you could be having a problem with your theft system

if yes
you could have a problem with fuel pump
need to put a pressure gauge on the fuel rail

u need to make sure the ignition cylinder u replaced was done correctly

can u turn the key back one spot
and the acc come on

do some checks let me know and i can help from there
