I put a cd player in my 89 fleetwood the wiring seems so be all in order, but when i turn on my headlights the cd player turns completely off like it is getting no power. If you have any idea about what the problem is please help.

how long have you had the car and when did that start,
what work was done just prior to the CD issue?
is this intermitent or always?

 

I've had the car for a little more than a month. To my knowledge there was no work done prior to my putting in the cd player. It started right after I put the cd player in so I took it out, checked the wiring and it was all in order. It turns completely off every time I turn on the headlights.

 

Double check your wires: yellow&black=radio fuse 10amp hot in acc or run
red or orange=hot at all times black=ground
front left spk: tan/grey front right spk: light green/black&white
rear left spk: yellow/brown rear right spk:light blue/ dark blue
other wires: gray and/or brown=lights,instrument panel
