Hey everybody, new to this today and I'm hoping I can get some good advice from you guys. My car has 125k on it with a newer carbuerator on it. The problem is everytime I start my car for the first time of the day I runs really cold. I have to let it warm up for like five minutes before I take off or it will die or want to die. Now this doesn't matter if its 30 or a 100 digrees outside. I thought it just needed a tune-up and replaced the wires and plugs which didn't change anything. Then I changed the fuel filter which didn't help either. Doesn't anyone have any sugestions. Thanks so much, Jim.

Oh yah, after I drive it for the initial time of the day it does fine after that although it does seam like it idols a little low.

 

two things come to mind
- choke is not working
- exhaust heat valve is full of carbon

tune up and plugs aint gonna help ...
