'76 Eldorado light switch knob
I am awaiting the delivery of a shop manual to help me with the various repairs on my '76 Edlorado convertible. I cannot figure out how to remove the plastic control knob off of the post that resides in the headlight switch on the dash so I can install a new switch. Is there a locking clip or special tool needed to accomplish this?
Thanks, |
RE: '76 Eldorado light switch knob
On some switches there a slot in knob and a pocket screw diver can depress retainer and knob will pull off switch,on ones where there is no slot its a little harder. You will need to remove trim so you can get your hand on switch, you will feel a button on switch it around a 1/4" in dia. pull knob out and button will not want to depress.Push knob in hold button down and knob should come out/off,be advised in either case if battery is connected the lights will be on,but on the 1st type you will be able to turn them off.Hope it helps
