I have a 2003 cadillac cts, 3.2l auto, I purchased it from a guy who tole me it needed a new ecm and few more things. It was throwing a code that said bad ecm am few bad sensors, also it had tc light that stayed on and key wouldn't come out of the ignition , once I replaced the battery and alternator those problems were solved so I went ahead and ordered and ecm that was plug and play off eBay, once it arrived I had to do a key learn which was successful, after that it started up and ran fine but now after a few minutes of driving it will randomly shut off for a few seconds, dash displays "security system diabled, remove key". It has down this 5 or 6 times, sometimes it will start back up and continue going other times you have to stop and put it in park and crank it back up. I'm wondering if they may have sent a bad ecm since my previous ecm didn't show any of these symptoms. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks !

 

Check for codes. Ecm needs to be programmed to car by dealer. I'm not sure about ebay plug and play. I would contact seller and / or see about making sure ecm is programmed to car.

 

yes it was programmed by the seller and I gave the Vin number, had to do a 30 minute key learningprocess and it was successful because before that it wouldn't start, problem is it just shuts off while your driving and says security system diabled, remove key. I'm lost as to what needs to be done next.

I ordered mine on ebay, the company is called flagship1 outta new york, hopefully you'll get a good one cause from what I'm hearing they sent me a bad one. They'll fix it and send it back but I'll have to wait for almost two weeks...good luck!
