1997 cadilac deville

hello i have a 1997 cadilac deville when i go to start it the security light stays on and it only cranks any help would be appreciated

My advice on this one is to disconnect negative battery terminal for 20 minutes. Reconnect and use your spare key to start the car. Let us know what happens.
