My 84 eldorado just had the speedometer self distruct. It has a 2 piece speedometer...1 long piece that heads for the tranny and a short piece about 9.5" that screws to the longer piece and then into the transmission.

Does anyone know if the long and short piece are considered by Cadillac to be one piece? it is still available from the dealer but they have no picture as my service manual does. They say it is 45.9" long. I don't know if that is combined length or just the longer piece. If its not right its 35% return charge. One thing we did find is that no one shows that shorter piece for sale. and no one online has picture that is of the actual part you will receive. thanks much for any help

 

Have you tried any of your local wreckers to see if they have one or even if others look yours??
