1973 coupe deville trunk issues
 
i am the new owner of a 1973 deville. i was wondering what that shock and cable on the right side of the trunk are supposed to be doing? mine is disconnected. cable seems to be froze! :eek:

where are they?? are they connected/attached to anything?? is everything working properly?? could they be the trunk pull down/closer that has been replaced with a manual close type??

The shock is located on the passenger side. It has a cable attached on both sides. One goes to the trunk lid hinge (which also includes a lever and wheel that pulls on cable). The other goes to the lower trunk latch. I hooked everything up, but the cable to the latch is completely frozen. I sprayed it with "knock'er loose and will try again tomorrow!
