Default 05 Cadillac DeVille DHS - Intermittent Gas or Exhaust smell

Hello All, new to this forum. We are getting an intermittent smell of gas or maybe exhaust while the car is being driven. There is no leak on the ground or that I can see in the engine compartment. This smell does not happen on every trip, miles driven, or length of time, does not seem to matter. From outside the car the smell seems to be most powerful near the drivers door. We have taken the car into Cadillac while this was going on, the repair clerk could smell the fumes but by the time the tech looked at the car the smell was gone and there were NO Codes.
Any Ideas?
Thanks
John

Hello John,

Welcome to the forum! We are glad to have you as part of the Cadillac family. I am sorry for the intermittent smell in your vehicle and for no codes being able to be read by a technician. I understand how intermittent issues can be frustrating to deal with. I see you are wanting advice from other forum members, and this site is a great way to interact with other Cadillac owners and get insight on your vehicle concerns. However, if you would like the opportunity to speak with us, please reach out via private message or by email at socialmedia@gm.com. Include your contact information, VIN and current mileage so we can help research this concern on your behalf. Gregory W. and I monitor the Cadillac forums and are here to assist with concerns and questions.

Sincerely,

Laura M.
