I want to save some cash and buy the oil and filter and/or find the most affordable place to change my oil.
1. Does anybody change there own oil? What is your process?
2. Who do you buy the oil from?What Oil brand/type do youuse?
3. Who do you buy the filter from? What filter model number/part# do you order?
4. If you dont go to the dealership to do this where/who is the most affordable?

Is there anything else that I should know about? Reseting "change oil" warning...etc

My last oil change at the Pontiac/Cadillac/GMC dealer cost $36.99, last week of August. I don't know how you can beat that price by doing it yourself.

 

I agree...Most dealers will evenlet you purchase the oil and filter and THEY provide the labor. I think my last service was under $20.
