noise is a function of thread design.
in a 4x4 setup, an aggressive thread design tends to be noisy .. i would expect the same for road tires on a AWD.

I have the same tire setup also and please let us know how your different tires work out.

And about price,I just checked an the Obama tarriff on tires from China raised the price from $79 to about $100 each, What a bummer for those who want to buy them after September 29th.(And my noisey tire issue....well I just turn my killer audio system up.)

Found set 4 sunnys 235-60-16 stock wheels sts, for 290.17 shipped my door. but if very very noisy might look tad better tire maybe the Falken? anyone? kinda cap budget at about 3. i found falken from discount tire.com 320 ship..really wanted the michelin primacys, but with the millage going up and value car going down dont know if its really worth it to throw them on and i happen get rid car an dont get enjoy them.

The falken 452's are a great wet/dry tire i had them on my cady with 18's when i bought it. for the price its not so bad considering i dont hear road noise. they seem to be good all around. Snow is somewhat a issue for me though. As of 8 months ago i replaced the fronts (previous owner didnt leave much tread for me) with nankangs and would go back to the falkens. The nankangs have very good wet traction not as good dry traction as the falkens.

The Pilot Sport A/S is superb

I paid an extra $75 per tire but traded the loud Sunnys with the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. I love them. Nice and quiet. Haven't driven them in the rain or snow yet but I like them so far.

Well after about 1,400 miles, I guess I'll let my Sunny tires run their course but I think when they wear out I'll seek a different brand that is more quiet

I will let everyone know in about 6 months how well they are performing and if it is worthwhile to own Sunny tires. I know they are cheap tires but after doing some research on them I found them quite acceptable for the price.( they had plenty of good reviews). If they are what I want them to be then I will buy again but if I find them a piece of crap I will definetely let everyone know.I will also give updates as I go along.

Hello, now how do u think about the sunny brand tire? just noisy? have you try any other tires? what about the brand "KINFOREST" or "MAYRUN" as well as from China?

jono6406 06-24-2010 09:51 PM

After about 1 year and 1 month my 2 front Sunny tires wore out . The inner edge on both front tires wore down to the core but the rest of the tire was in perfect shape with full tread. I will blame that on a very bad out of whack front end because my rear tires have virtually no wear. I purchased 2 more replacement tires of the same kind but got a 4 wheel ailgnment to help insure they don't wear prematurely again. I will now keep and eye on the tires to see what happen next. Oh by the way they had a little over 10k miles on them and I still think for the price they are ok.
