Today I purchased Sunny tires for my STS. They are the 18" staggered ones that are 235-50/18 in the front and 255-45/18 in the rear. They were only $411 shipped to my door for the complete set. I will let everyone know in about 6 months how well they are performing and if it is worthwhile to own Sunny tires. I know they are cheap tires but after doing some research on them I found them quite acceptable for the price.( they had plenty of good reviews).If they are what I want them to be then I will buy again but if I find them a piece of crap I will definetely let everyone know.I will also give updates as I go along.

$411 is cheap?

and to that you still have to add mounting, balancing, etc ..

The Cadillac dealer wants $25 each to mount and balance for a total of $100 and a Cadillac specialist in my area wants $40 each for a total of $160 but I have found a place here in Tampa that only wants $11 each for a total of $44 for the same service so stealth you know where Im going?

i have a pair of 17" with sunny tires i had them on a different car and in my opinion they are good as long as you are not an agressive driver. the tires seem to wear out some what fast if you happen to like wheel spin. I did about 4 slight burn outs nothing crazy and wore the tread down quite abit the other two look new still. but for just an all around tire to get from A to B they are a bargin Most tire shops can mount a tire for around $10. I had tires put on my Cady when i first bought it and the tire shop i go to in my town charged me $6 per tire to mount and $2 per wheel to balance. Its not to hard to put a tire on a wheel i used to work at a tire shop so dont let people try to charge you outragous amounts. good luck and let us know your opinion on them tires.

Jono6406, how do you like the Sunny tires now? I just got two for the front becuase of a blowout (hightway construction people left a extra high manhole after their overnight work). Anyway, got the front two replaced with Sunny SY1801 W rated tires. the car is at the dealer now and got a new hub assembly because of a loud bearing noise. Well the dealer says the car is ready and the car is still loud. they rotated the tires as a test and now the loudness is coming from the back of the car. So they conclude the tires are a loud tire. I will see when I pick it up but wanted to know your thoughts at this point. It's been a few months I believe.

wear is not an indication of being "cheap" .. some of the most expensive tires in the world wear very fast due to the high degree of traction which is brought about by a very soft thread.

"performance" requires sticky, sticky requires soft thread, they wear fast, and usually are expensive.
will you like them? it all depends on YOUR personal criteria .. wear, traction, or durability.

durability may also be affected by UV exposure and age. see the picture.

the dealer I went to told me Sunny is made by Bridgestone. I take it that is not true...

Those Sunny tires are made by Wanli tire in China and they are very good in the rain but the only thing is that I noticed they are very noisey, like you said they make that turbine sound. If you can deal with that they should be ok. They are good for someone in a pinch but if you can afford shall I say a quieter tire then by all means buy it.Mines are the 235-50/18 and 255-45/18 SN3800.

Another update on the Sunny SN3800 series tires that I have now ran for approx. 5 months.
Pros:
very good in wet weather
has very sharp/clean (killer) tread design
good price

Cons:
very,very noisey

That is all I can say after 5 months but I'm sure I can report more in less than a year of ownership of these tires.
I give them (so far) A 7 out of 10.

Ya I just picked up my car yesterday and they are very noisy, the left even louder then the front. I think I can even feel a vibration! I called the sunny dealer and they will take them back. I think I might try the Michelin AS Sport which I hear good things about on the STS4 with 18" staggared tire sizes... Otherwise, yes they look good on the car and seem to handle fine. And certainly the price is right!
