I am having what sounds like a bad or lose connection eminating through all the speakers. Almost like it it picking up external interference like sometimes happens when a truck passes you on the highway. There is no rythm to the occurance, just sparatic. It happens with the car not running or moving and just the key in acc mode. Its also happens running and moving. And the volume of the distortion is very loud even with the radio volume at minimum. All features of the radio work fine and it still sounds great even when the intermittent distortions or static happens. Anyone ever run into this problem? Thanks in advance for any suggestions

 

Had same issue on a 06 sts. Rear speaker would intermittently pop and crack even when the radio wasn't on. Problem continued to get worse and began to smell like electrical burning. Pulled the cover off the center console where the rear heater controls are. Discovered the speaker in that area was red hot. Had to unplug the speaker which corrected the problem.
