I'm looking to buy a 2003 STS. Co;uld anyone tell me the good or bad points to look for. What yrs did they have problems with oil burning ( 1 qt. every 1000 miles or ? ) . Any other problems on 03 I would need to know abt. Is that a good yr?

Engine only area of concern no leaks or overheating , make sure everything works, best if all stock - wheels and tires dont count. It is not uncommon for northstars to use quart of oil between oil changes.If cost of ownership is a major factor, find certified pre-owned car with 6yr/100k warranty.Overall good cars.

 

teleman..... ask if you can have the car for a day...... what ever, you want to see if it goes with the house... have it checked by a tech you do business with...... make sure all electrics are working....... give the car a good driving, make sure it handles, and preforms properly.......... usually GREAT cars, and you should love it........ what kind of bucks?..... are you trading?....... are you buying from a franchised dealer?....does it have any warranty?......will they show you what they have done, as for as in there shop?......how many miles on the car?......what stste are you in?......will they give you the name of the past owner?........did they buy the car at auction, or was it a trade?......... sorry for all the questions... just trying to make you think of important stuff you should consider.... i've been in the business over 30 yrs....keep the forum informed, we'll help....good luck and WELCOME to the Forum
