Default 95 STS Security System Bypass

My 95 STS VAT security system wouldn't let me start the car. Watching all sorts of youtube vids. I did the bypass thingy by cutting the wires and placing the proper ohm resistor in place under the dash. Got lucky and found almost the exact resistor with the proper ohms. Which worked out great. Car fired right up. Only problem is now the key wouldn't shut the car off. Finally had to pull the ignition fuse to get the darn thing to shut down. Now I have no idea what to do other than put a toggle switch in to cut the fuse on and off. HELP!!!!

33 visits with not one replay or suggestion. That's rather sad.

The resistor is not the reason it won't shut off. That is more likely either the ignition switch itself or you might have accidentally crossed two wires at the bottom of the steering column while installing the resistor. The ignition switch could be bad or maybe damaged if someone were trying to steal it at some point. You are going to find the problem somewhere along the steering column, from the base to the switch. That's where to look.
