2002 sts shock replacement

Hello I have a 2002 Seville STS It has about 80000 miles on it runs good, but the rear suspension is very low and some time u can feel it bouncing off the stops. there is no code that i can see. I don't think the compressor is working my question is can you replace the air ride with hydraulic shocks? any help please

Thanks
John

GM's position is : it is not recommended to disable RTD suspension on sts, etc, or dts models. They are the 300 horse northstars. On the other models there are procedures to disable warning light, All 4 shocks/struts should be replaced with conventional absorbers. Non air ride shocks will not raise back of car.

I had replaced the rear struts since they were bad i paid roughly $850 for the pair at my local parts store. once i replaced them i still had the same issue with the rear end sitting low. the compressor would kick on but not raise the rear end.

there was a code set for the compressor which i for get off hand but i know it meant i needed a new one. they cost any where from $200-300 so i just disconnected the airlines and used a kit from my auto parts store and manually aired up the rear struts with about 50psi and it was perfect ride height. NO CODES or anything set since i left the compressor plugged in the computer sees that the car doesnt need leveling so it assumes its ok. (i reset codes after i did this)

i know its not the cadillac way of fixing it but i didnt care for the auto leveling also dont put too much in other wise its too stiff i put around 35psi in and it seemed to be just right even with passengers it still looked good. also felt close to stock ride quality.

heres my write up i did for it. The setup i used is just like the setup used on the GM G body cars like the cutlass 442 in the 80's. At the time i had plans on improving the setup so this was temporary till i could find a compressor that worked since the compressors are known for going bad 90% of the time.
