Default Suspension noise

2005 Cadillac SRX - I have noticed a noise under my car on the front drivers side. Sounds like a coil gone bad. I notice it most went driving on a bumpy road while going 20 - 40 MPH.

Default Suspension noise

It sounds like a old spring making a squeaking noise when pushed down. The noise is worse in the morning when there is condensation on my car. Every bump in the road it make a loud noise. Sometimes it also sounds like a grinding noise as I am driving. Like I said most noticed when I am going at a slower speed.

Cad Tech bulletin 05-03-08-010A covers '05 SRX & STS, and addresses a noise from the front while going over bumps....says to replace the lower control arm, once you determine which side is making the noise.

Default STS Front Suspension noise

I had a front suspension noise forever on my Cadillac 2005 STS (Premium Package) on the drivers side. When traveling at slow speeds on roads that were slightly bumpy or had cracks in them, the noise was very apparent. It sounded like something was loose. You could even feel it in the steering wheel. I had the sway bar bushings replaced and the noise was still there. I then replaced the lower control arm and the noise was still there. I did those two things about 4 years ago. Last week I decided to have the front left upper control arm replaced --- BINGO, it rides like a dream now. Even though it is not a daily driver and only has 49K miles, I'm actually excited now about putting a few more miles on it now. It really made a huge difference. The front end is ALL TIGHT now. I bought a new front left upper control arm on Ebay for $189.00 (Cadillac wanted about $360.00). I paid my mechanic $190.00 to install it. It was definitely worth it now. It drives like a Cadillac should.
