Default Replace touchscreen or upgrade to the new Cue?

I am purchasing a 2013 SRX. The touchscreen is not working but the other aspects of the radio system seem to be working still. Since this version does not include Apple CarPlay I was considering upgrading the entire system. Any ideas or suggestions? Is this something I can do myself if I want to Upgrade to Cue 3.0 or whatever the latest version is? Where’s the best place to buy the upgrade?

I've changed the touchscreen on my 2015 SRX. Inexpensive part but lots of screws and disassembly. The video explained it well - take pics along the way if you do.
