I am looking at a 2008 SRX that was in a rental fleet. Car has 18,000 miles on it. The price is about $4,000 less than other 2008's with six to eight K miles. My question is, would you be afraid of the mileage. Should I spend the extra money for a one owner with lower mileage. Thanks, I appreacite any input.

I would not be afraid of the rental car, in this case because it's not a performance car. Rentals many times will be missing options that maybe desired: onstar, garage opener, remote start, .. etc. Many options CAN NOT BE ADDED after car is built. The car has a 4 year/50k warranty, as with any used car be sure it has no title issues, and verify original in service date. Rental fleets could get a 08 car as early as April 07. I do know a lady who bought an 07 Escalade with an 12/05 delivery date, how could it happen? It was a corporate car in use 3 month before debute and 4 1/2 month before they could be bought. What it means is her 07 will go out of factory warranty in December 09, so in service date might matter. Good Luck.
