Default Headlight Advisory

Hi everyone and new to the forum.

Just received the Cadillac advisory on GM reimbursement for foggy headlight issue relative to my 2013 SRX.

Has anyone had this work performed at a Cadillac dealership and is the replacement an improvement over the faulty design? I fear they will replace with "new" obsolete old inventory.

Thanks.

Hey Philly Steve,

I’m having problems with my headlamps also. How did you get a letter from GM for reimbursement? I have been getting the run around from GM

For me, the letter showed up out of the blue. A CTS owner friend warned me about the light assembly issue.

Did you just recently get the letter?
Husbands car is at dealership now. They quoted $1600 per headlamp. We haven’t got a letter yet....if we have to pay for the repairs ourselves, we are trading it in....Anything but a Cadillac.

My letter is dated February 28 and provides an end of May deadline to submit a claim of the work owners paid at the dealership. Again, it's up to Cadillac for reimbursement to out of pocket owners.

Not sure if the health emergency will extend the deadline.

Good luck in resolving your issue. I wish Cadillac had conducted a proper recall. Good luck car shopping if it comes to that. It is a buyer's market.
