I have a 1989 cadillac seville that is not the sts version and its my first car and i love it! Good gas mileage, not too bad on power, and a smooth ride. The only problem ive had with it is the idle control i have replaced 2 on mine in the span of 2 years and are an easy swap. Before you but it check to make sure it idles well and not too high.

I had a 1989 Sedan Deville (recently traded in), and it too had the Idle Speed Controller go out. It's easy to replace (just pull the air intake off and remove the screws holding it in). Other than that, the 4.5L TBI engine is reliable and gets pretty good MPG (I got 22MPG highway).

I own an STS
I have a pearl white 1989 STS. It is one of only 1850 made. I am the original owner and it now has about 85,000 miles. There is some minor damage: The passenger side mirror has some minor cracking in the paint (it was hit when coming out of the garage). The rear trunk lid needs to be repainted - paint is showing cracks and a 4cm square area is bare to the metal. The front bonnet has a small 1cm damage to the paint, now filled in with matching color paint. The driver side door molding is broken off but can be repaired (better to replace both sides). The "burly" wood veneer door to the storage box between the rear seats is pealing off the under-layment wood (needs to be replaced). The interior door veneer wood is showing some subtle cracks in the lacquer and may need to be re-lacquered. There are no mechanical problems. The air conditioning system has been converted to the new refreigerant.
This is a very smooth driving car. The interior leather is still soft and smooth (though beginning to show a little bit of wear - if be treated with oils and restorers it will look like new). The V8 engine is still quite powerful and provides good acceleration. I love the car, but must sell it to make room in my garage for a newer Caddy.
Please make and offer and we can negotiate something fair.
