FUEL FILLER PIPE
 
i have 96 sts and my fuel filler pipe is rotted i need a new one ...i was wondering where i could maybe get one cheap the dealers price is outrageous ...and what other cadillacs will fit mine ......and is it possible to make one out of rubber fittings

if you want to go the cheap route, yes you can make one out of rubber fittings, just make sure you get the type for fuel. That would be the cheapest and faster way to fix, besides there is plenty of car that have rubber fuel lines so it should not be too much of a problem if you do that.

The only issue I see is that the fuel cap is probably the #1 reason why the check engine light comes on so you need to have an air tight repair.

every time i fill up my 94 sls i smell gas... one time i over filled my gas tank and it leaked from the bottom somewhere could that be the fuel filler pipe?????

The sending unit goes in from the top of the tank and the fittings are on that with a gasket usually. The tank seam is in the middle more or less of the tank. Overfill leaking points to one of those imo.
