I bought 98 sls back in Feb, No problems at first but then around april/may my engine light came on. I took it to auto parts store and had them hook it up and i "think" the code was P-never mind i just forgot. also said torque in off position. The car runs fine but i do noticethat when u try to take off fast it sounds like the transmission skips or something but when u let off the gas it seems to immediatly catch up. Also the notice keeps coming up service suspension system-is this just my shocks? I hear the motor but the car doesn't rise and also my trunk won't auto close. Last week I let my driver window down and it wouldn't go up. the motor sounded like it had or was grinding glass. This just happened all of a sudden-never had an issue with the windows.

I be looking and testing grounds,
plus the battery condition,
everything you mentioned can be expereinced with these two.

however, you may well have real problems and we need codes.
may I suggest you clear the codes and re-read the codes?
then post them .. they are important and do tell us a lot.
