Hello everyone



I have a 1976 Cadillac Seville and the fuel gauge was not working, it was always showing 1/4 recently.



At the same time I decided to remove the fuel tank to check and (if needed), clean it inside, also to check the whole fuel sender unit and inspect the low pressure fuel pump and filter which are in it.



As I removed the tank and then the fuel sender unit (from above the tank) I discovered that the fuel lever sensor (as the whole interior tank ) was completely full of some kind of thick and black clingy deposit of tar (one inch thick) so I took the tank for professional cleaning, it took days to remove all that tar. The fuel level sensor was totally blocked-corroed-rusted in such a way that when I tried to gently move the sensor's float device the sensor internal reostat broke in several pieces.



So I need a new TANK FUEL SENDER UNIT KIT, wich comes with the fuel level sensor, fuel pump (and filter) and kind of a electrical condenser for the pump. I have tried to find someone in the market, but it seems there is not any (ebay, rockauto, google, etc) Caddy- daddy has got 1976 models but not for Seville Fuel injected (fuel pump inside) I also observe that there are available fuel sender kits for another newer Cadillacs with fuel injection (1980's and 1990's) but I don't know if they fit, they look very very similar.



Anyone knows how to get a new (or equivalent) fuel tank sender unit for our precious 1976 Sevilles ???
