Did the owners keep the registration up when it sat? I bought a 97 twonacr that sat for 3 years, i have to pay $710 in registration fees!
you can file a non operational cetificate if it was not on the road, parked or moving.
AAA can assist on taking care of such things, the DMV office itself, forget it - morons.
if you drove it home, or towed with wheels on the road, you would be out of luck since it
"touched" a public street. if you "flatbed", you are in luck.

also, at 10 years of no registration or use, the cars fall out of the system, no longer "exist"
so there are no late fees or back fees.

Not on the road, parked or moving? What else would it be doing? LOL I can get a non op now? But then when I go to register it, the 3 year fine will still be there no? How would they if I drove it or towed it?

I was lucky, the owner of this fleetwood kept it registered, insured and maintained, even though she never drove it after her husband passed. She would call the shop he always had it worked on, they would come get it and do oil changes and such.. as a matter of fact, whenn I bought it, she had them come prep it for me to see it.

very nice brougham. I have an 85 just like it, same color but maroon leather int. The only thing is my top is beat up and needs to be redone. Keep her clean and always in the garage or with a car cover. once again nice car
