HELP 2007 Escalade rough idle / warranty work
Any help or suggestions much appreciated!! "New", from dealer, 2007 AWD Escalade with 1000 miles on it. Very rough idle and engine vibration when sitting at red light or in park. I love the truck and it drives fine, but has a very noticeable vibration when ideling - passengers comment on how rough it is. I noticed it right away, but thought it was just the "big engine etc", but the more I drove the more obvious and annoying it became, especially when another Escalade owner was a passenger and commented on it. Dealer initially insists it is "just the big engine" and all Escalades ride like that. So... we test drive two other Escalades on the lot, both of which were smooth and had a nice idle - huge difference! Difference was readily appreciated and acknowledged by salesperson and tech at the time. Brought in for service to investigate. However, today I hear that since there is no "warning light" or errors when scanned, we must wait. It was explained that the Escalade warning lights are "almost to sensitive" and will come on eventually if there really is a problem, but if it's "not on, nothing is wrong". It was felt most likely that my rough idle was just the "way my truck is, essentially a varient of normal idle". I looked over the Service Bulletins and have read some in regards to a possible blocked/clogged fuel injectors. HELP! What should I expect from the dealer in this case? I don't want to be unreasonable, but am annoyed and disappointed. What should they investigate or try to fix without a warning light or error showing up, or should I just wait..... What should I do.
Drive it to about 2500- 3000 miles see if it get better as engine breaks in. If engine still seems rough and condition can not be resolved contact Cadillac customer assistance. Request meeting with GM Rep. to discuss concern and get him involved.
Sorry for not being clear. It now has about 2600 miles on it with no change. Should the dealer do anything to investigate or attempt correction, without warning lights, before I contact Cadilac service? Thanks.
Thanks again. Here's an update. Apparently, just before buying vehicle, a service engine soon light was noted intermittantly, history showed codes P0340 and P0341 (camshaftcodes) and cam sensor was replaced. Light never came on again. Could there still be a problem with the camshaft causing the rough idle issues? Am I interpreting the above codes correctly? I've never has a SES light since.
Possible but unlikey. Code(s) would be stored even if light is out. It seems if rough idle is so appearent then diagnosis should be very possible.
