Im new here, first time ever on here. I own a 2003 Escalade with the factory Bose Premium system head unit. I have a friend who owns the same year and model but with the factory GPS head unit. I was wandering if i swapped out my factory head unit with his factory head unit would it be compatible. For instance, when I say compatible, would I need to do any modifications to it or buy any new components just for my friends head unit to work in my car. I understand that all factory head units have a security code which recognizes the VIN, but if I was to have his VIN availabe also, could this project be a success.
If any one could help, I would really appreiciate this.
