A/C warm when stopped
A/C is cold when moving,,when stopped it warms up. On a 2002 escalade. Is fan clutch going bad(it spins real easy when engine is off) or do I need a extra(aux) cooling fan on front of radiator?

RE: A/C warm when stopped
Check if you have an electric fan and is it working?. You need to put some gauges on the A/C to check running pressures. I suspect you may havelow gas level as the high pressure cut switch would trip if the condenser did not have air passing through it.
Check: 1. Electric fan (if fitted) operating correctly. 2. Clutch not dropping out 3. Running pressures. If AC has not been checked since new, the I would say you are low on gas; it leaks out eventually as car AC is not hermetically sealedunlike domestic systems. |
