I have an 11 luxury trim escalade that overheats when towing. This is the only time it overheats. I have replaced the thermostat, water pump, coolant flush and it still overheats. I know that the fans turn on, I don't know if they are running exactly when they are supposed to or not. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem is?

If you know anyone that has a TECK2 scanner they can go into the settings and reprogram the fans to come on sooner , have you changed the DEX-COOL antifreeze , it has been known to go bad and plug up systems , try putting in some WETTER-WATER , most auto parts places have it and it raises the boiling point . If you see bubbles in the coolant tank you might have a leaking head gasket .

 

Coolant should have been changed at least once. How hot is temperature getting and how heavy a trailer?
