Default 2004 Cadillac Escalade Heated seats

I have a 04 Escalade and the front seats (heated seats) works intermittently. If you turn on the passengers and then turn on the drivers side they both goes off. I took it to an Auto Electric store and the results are the element is off and both the Drivers and passengers side needs to be replaced. The heater comes on it just do not stay on. The price was 1400. This seems a little steep. Any suggestions?

Default heated seats

The heated seats come on they just do not stay on. if you turn on the passenger side it will stay on for a minute or so. If you turn on the driver's side then they will both turn off. The back seats heat work. The auto place said I must replace all the elements including the back. If the back work why would I need to change them all.
