You need to have it scanned for trouble codes.
Could be any of 100 different things.

Im told i can pull the code from the dash of the vehicle by using the diagnostics display.
Do you know the sequence, or does this have to go to the dealer?

Thanks alot

C1228 refers to a problem with the right rear wheel speed sensor or its related circuit.
If you are comfortable using a quality DVOM i can walk you through some of the diag.

The possible faults are the speed sensor, the electronic brake and traction control module (EBTCM), or the wiring/connectors between them.

First off i would check the sensor to see if it is plugged in all the way and does not appear damaged.

Don't worry about the MSM codes.

I had the same problem on my 98 eldorado, what the message means is there is something wrong with the front steering of your car. I corrected it by replacing the sticky outer tie rod on the left front wheel. also there is a verical rod that has an upper and lower ball joint right near the tie rod... they call this a coil kit, they rotate and turn when the steering wheel is turned. i went through a lot of troubleshooting to find this out, the sensors are working they are just telling you there is something wrong that needs attention.
coil kits come in pairs on the internet 78.00 and the outer tie rod runs 51.00 at the napa store
