The car is a 2010 DTS base model. And when I say base, i mean "No Options" except for a compact spare in place of "inflator/sealant." No kidding!
Yesterday morning the temperature was about 47°F and I had used remote start to get the car going. After about ten minutes I used the RKE to let SWMBO put things in the passenger rear door. Just as the doors unlocked there was a *loud* POP!.....and the rear glass had just shattered! She thought the car had backfired.
What could have caused this?..... some freakish remote discharge/static thing?.....a temperature variance reaction? Has anyone else experienced this, or something similar? Any insight or suggestions are appreciated.
Oh, did I mention I just got this car four days ago, on Monday?
