Default What year?

Im new to this, so if i posted this in the wrong place I'm sorry.

I'm not an owner of a Cadillac but I want to be. I like the like the looks of the 70's Cadillac but I live in Alaska so, I need a front wheel drive or all wheel drive car. What year did they switch to the front wheel drive?

Hey Lynch: They started front wheel drive around 1967 I believe, thats as far back as I have manuals for. The transaxle used many different combinations of transmission over the next dozen years or so. The 60's and 70's are nice but be prepared to do a lot of work on then yourself because they can be a finicky car to keep in top running order. I have the 1981 an fund it in very nice condition and still have my hands full. The older ones are really commanding some big dollars now. Good luck.

So all cadillacs switched to front wheel drive back then. I like the looks of the 67' eldorado, where they front wheel drive? I'm not looking for a good condition car i want somthing I can fix myself and paint. Also what type of engines did they have?
