Default Suspension question

I have a 2000 Deville DHS with only 48500 miles on it that I bought 2 months ago. I recently purchased Major Guard coverage for it. I have a feeling that the springs might be at a point where most people might consider replacing them. I don't really know if that is the case here as I am not knowledgable as to the suspension and shocks system on a Cadillac. I want to have the springs and shocks checked on the car since I just got it. I have 2 questions.

#1) What is the average life expectancy before changing the springson a car with this little mileage?

#2) If I take the car to a dealer and the springs are borderline, will Cadillac replace them under the warranty or will I have to wait until they are worse then now?

I know I can take the car anywhere for shocks since they aren't covered but why spend good money at my local springs guy (Hackensack Springs in Hackensack NJ, the best) when they might be covered. Any info regarding the suspension and shocks is greatly appreciated.
