Problems with '99 Deville
Well I bought a '99 Deville a while back, and it's been a nonstop headache and has been in the shop more often than I've actually been able to drive it.
Currently, I'm pulling the diagnostic code "P0758 - 2-3 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical". What does this mean? Is this going to be another 1,000 dollar repair for me?
I already had the transmission worked on. Here's a list of what's been done since I bought this car.
Service Description:
Converter Lockup
Solenoid- Removed + Replaced
Torque Converter
TCC Sonax Valve
TCC Solenoid
Side Filter
Ream + Install TCC Sonax Valve
Service Description:
Replace Serpentine belt, spark plugs, fuel filter, axle shaft, recharge freon
Service Description: Replace Radiator, sensors, extension valve replaced/evacuated and recharged freon, oil change
Please help I've already spent 2,000 dollars in repairs for a used car.

I would like to add, this is what happened RIGHT before the "Service Engine" light came on. "Traction Engaged" kept appearing in the display, and the car was turning into a real jerky ride as a result of the traction. I was driving on SMOOTH ROAD in NORMAL weather conditions. There's no reason traction should've come on. This kept happening in increasing frequency until this light came on. Now it feels like the car is stuck in the wrong gear, even though I can easily switch gears.
It feels like my horsepower has been cut in half. It's a lot tougher to accelerate when it used to be a breeze to get the car moving. The ride is bumpy, when before it was smooth. If I take my foot of the brake while stopped the car won't even move, when before the light came on it would creep forward slowly.

Just curious, how much did you pay for the car? I always figure on spending a couple of thousand when I get a used car.
Traction control uses a combination of braking system and retarded ignition and fuel delivery to work so a malfunction there will seem like no horespower. Seems to me like an unrelated problem to the others. It's 10 years old and this is the sort of thing that happens at this age.
I really don't think you should count the spark plugs, wires, oil, belts as these are things anyone would change in a used car. Feon charge, you must have known the car had no A/C when you bought it, I usually check that first.
As for you new code that is a visit to the transmssion shop for sure since there is a problem in the circuit that controls the 2-3 shift.

I spoke with the mechanic he said before he'd changed the TCC Solenoid, and he thinks one of the other solenoids went bad which he says is rare. If he has to take apart the entire car it's going to be another 1,000 dollar repair. After that 2,000 grand if I would've known all this I just would've got a damn new transmission. Actually.... I wouldn't have bought the car. I spent 5,000 cash. He said he thinks he might be able to reach the part from the bottom to save labor costs. Is this his fault for checking/changing this before?
Replacing shift solenoids is not that expensive no more than 350.00. maybe 500.00 at a dealer(number quoted on the high side includes normal diag).Repair shop should work with you on cost of repair. If not contact BBB or consumer protection about your dissatisfaction. If you have posted this you have already told people of your experience who will tell more people of it. Auto repair shops are hurting at this time, they can't Pi$$ Off their customers and expect to say in business.
