Default head gasket-northstar

ok can yall tell me what the big deal is to replace a head gasket? my mechanic says if you attempt to replace a head gasket it will lead to compression problems later. and that it no use to do it. i still cant believe it. what is so different about it than a "normal" gasket replacement. i mean im no ase cert. but ive changed a few down the road. still weighing my options here to do it or not.

Biggest problem with northstar head gaskets is the possiblity of pulled or stripped head bolt theads. Pulled treads can lead to needing new engine due block not sold as a service part. It is also an expensive repair.
