Coil packs - 3 in 4 years
In June 2006 when I got this car, I drove it cross country. Half way across it started to mis/stumble post https://www.cadillacforum.com/m_571/...ey_/tm.htm#571
I couldn't work on it fully until getting back home. At that time I put new wires, plugs and coil packs. Away went the stumble miss. I saw the previous owner had the same thing done at the dealer in 2001. It was for the same problem...misfire. The dealer charged $1,000 for coil packs/wires and spark plugs and I assume they used all GE parts.
Last week the mis/stumble reappeared. Today I put on new coild packs and wires. Stumble gone, well almost. I went with Advanced Autos aftermarket wires and they aren't working 100%. Last time I used Magnecores and they worked well.
What is with the Concourse eating up ign. components!??!?!?!?!?
Also why is the #7 wire so darn long? I think it is the #7. Either way one of the wires on the back bank has a short way to go but for some reason the wire must loop off to the right. It was the same with the wires the dealer put on for the previous owner. I know that people say good wires can touch without problems but I like to run a loom without wires touching and that is impossible on the Northstar engine. Shorter wires for the back bank would help.
