hi everyone. My 97' deville does not sound the horn when the alarm is triggerd, nor when I arm/disarm it, the lights will flash and all that but no horn. Any ideas where I should start looking? I do all my own mechanic work I'm just new to this car and It would save me some time if some one could give some insight on this. Any advice would be a great help!

 

sounds like you need new horns try to take them off and test them if they still work then maybe its bad wireing. i need to get new horns for mine lol it sounds like a dead duck when i honk

 

oh I forgot to mention that the horns work fine from the button on the wheel

 

in that case i would look on the dic it im not sure if you have this option but in the dic you should be able to scroll through the readouts (i.e. avg mpg, oil life, fuel range,etc) there might be an option to select that let you change driver settings such as how the doors lock and unlock if in park or out of park etc. one of the options is for the secruity such as if the lights flash or not or if the horn should sound when you use the remote to lock and unlock the car. check this out and see if you have this option and if so you can adjust the settings to your likings.
