Default '96 DeVille do-it-yourself repairs

Hi All...I just purchased a 1996 DeVille with 92000 miles on it. I typically try to work on most of my vehicles doing things like spark plugs/wires, oil changes, alternator replacements, belt replacement things of that nature. How difficult is this car going to be to do minor repairs on and is the Haynes manual worth getting?

Thanks in advance

you can probably get by with changing the alternator and belt pretty easy, but spark plugs may be hard to get to if you engine is transverse. because the spark plugs on the back side near the firewall are tough to get to because of the small space. every thingelse is fairly easy too get if you have smallhands. also haynes and chilton books i think are good too have only because they give you IDEAS on where parts are located. alot of the time they dont go into detail on HOW to take parts out, you generally have to fill in some blanks. but like i said they are good to have around if you ever need to know something about your car.
