My mom ownes a 87 deville and it is having a wierd issue and I was looking for some help. The car is poping from the throttle bidy almost like a back fire but there is no flame. It is definetly a timming or feul problem I have never worked on a car like this and was hoping for some help. Does anyone know of any problems with this TB? Or if these cars have any common issues like this.Thanks for any help[/align]

 

I would check the plugs, wires and coil.

 

Popping thru the throttle body is usually a flattened camshaft. Worn lobes because of coolant mixed with oil. Remove the oil filler cap and see if the residue is a milky brown color. If so, at least the intake gasket is leaking and the cam is ruined!1
